OK TEXANS Mission Statement: |
|
OK TEXANS Soccer Club, Inc. is an organization of players, coaches, friends of youth and of the sport of soccer who are dedicated to the development of players and coaches to their highest competitive potential, utilizing the sport of soccer to foster international awareness, appreciation for cultural and ethnic diversity, and as a classroom for imparting life’s important values of character, discipline, dedication, fair play, teamwork and respect. Its purpose is solely educational and charitable. |
In keeping with the Mission Statement of OK TEXANS Soccer Club, Inc., the OK TEXANS Scholarship Program has been developed to make it possible for a limited number of players, with severely limited resources, to participate on an OK TEXANS Soccer Club team.
Limited assistance is offered to families to partially defray costs associated with playing soccer. Scholarships will be awarded based on availability of funds on a first-come basis. There is no guarantee that qualified applicants will receive scholarship monies.
Scholarship applicants must first meet the financial qualifications to determine eligibility:
- The player currently participates in the Federal Free or Reduced Lunch Program.
- For Home-schooled players: if the parents or guardians currently participate in a federal assistance program - Food Stamp program, Head Start program, Temporary Assistance for Needy families.
- Household income must be at or below the Reduced Price Meals level per the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Depending on the extent of financial need, as assessed by the OK Texans Scholarship Committee, players may be eligible for the following types and amounts of scholarship assistance:
- A FULL scholarship - waives all annual *coaching fees for the seasonal year beginning Fall through Spring, ....and a discount of .20% applied towards the annual Club fees.
- A HALF scholarship - waives half of the annual *coaching fees for the seasonal year beginning Fall through Spring and a discount of .20% applied towards the annual Club fees.
- ..
- ...* DOC fees are considered separate from the coaching fees and not included in the fees waived.
All players, including players applying for Scholarship awards, must pay the costs associated with:
- REGISTRATION, a one-time fee due at the time of registration
- CLUB FEES, a one-time fee with $120.00 due at the time of Registration, the balance due on Aug. 1
- UNIFORM fees, due when the order is submitted
- TEAM TOURNAMENT Registration fees, Coach Per Diem tournament fees, all fees associated for the player and his/her family to travel and participate in team tournaments.
- CAMP fees
The OK Texans Scholarship program does not provide for the above fees due. Players are encouraged to further defray these remaining costs through fundraising and/or refereeing.
Volunteers are a vital part of our programs. A commitment of four (4) hours each month of volunteer time to the Club is also required of the families awarded a scholarship.
Once a Scholarship Application is received, it will be reviewed by the OK Texans Scholarship Committee for approval and a determination of the amountl, if any, of the scholarship to be awarded. Their decision will be emailed to the Parent/Guardian, Coach, and Team Manager.
A Scholarship Applicant’s family will then need to meet with Club Administration to finalize the Scholarship Voucher.
